Bill Mossman:

This is Mr. Mossman's 16th year of directing plays at VHS. A graduate of University of Florida, Mr. Mossman has directed over 50 shows. Some of his favorites were Agatha Christie's The Mousetreap, I Hate Hamblet, Our Town, Arsenicand Old Lace, David and Lisa, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Design for Murder, Joel's Story, Pals, The First Time Club, and Who.

The last four plays were awarded supieors at the District 6 Thespian Festival and all four were chosen to be preformed on stage at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. This spring, Mr. Mossman is again taking a group of students to perform at T.B.P.A.C. Venice Thespians; Alana Opie, Lauren Gamber, Beth Kennard, and Erin Dettman won Critic's Choice at the District Festival. They will perform at The State's Opening Cerimonies in front of 4,000 Drama students from around Florida.

As a former actor and profesional musician, Mr. Mossman toured Europe and the U.S. for ten years. He is overjoied to pass on his love of theater to our Venice High students.

 

Sharon Ferguson:

Holds a Master of Arts Degree in theater from Florida State University and is a member of Actor's Equality Association with experience in over 30 professional plays. Mrs. Ferguson has done profesional children's theater directing, such as Hansel and Gretel, Cinderela, Jack and the Beanstalk, and other popular that our children know and love. She has also played an active pat in stage managment on plays like Our town, The Visit, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Sleuth, and many more. Mrs. Ferguson has not only been a director and a stage manager, but has also acted professionally in numerious plays such as The Sound of Music, Carnaval, Never Too Late, and many others. She has just directed Antigone here at VHS

She also had experience as the education director at the Aslo State Theater before starting her own touring company. She was an instructor at Broward Community Collage, at Booker Middle School, and at Venice High where she is currently teaching Stagecraft and Acting II. She enjoys her profession and loves the students she is working with, THE BEST in Sarasota County.
